Long Island Iced Tea
A drink that has gained global fame in the 90s. There are many theories regarding its origin, but one story is that the drink was invented during the American Prohibition era, when bootleggers of Long Island, who wanted to smuggle illegal liquor, started adding coke to white spirits in order to make it look like iced tea.
For a highball drink, this cocktail contains a relatively high volume of liquor - 75ml per serving.
If gomme syrup cannot be obtained, using simple sugar syrup is fine. If using granulated sugar, add sugar and lemon juice into the glass first, then dissolve the sugar particles well using a bar spoon, before adding ice and spirits.
