Cocktail Tutorial: Toblerone

Toblerone

Toblerone was the cocktail that inspired me to start studying mixology. I remember ordering a Toblerone at a friend's farewell party and falling in love with it straight away. My first toblerone was closer to a comedy than a cocktail - I mistook 'cream' in the Toblerone recipe to mean whipped cream, and made my toblerone by squeezing a layer of whipped cream on top of a mixture of three liqueurs. This resulted in a horribly strong alcoholic mixture, which was refused by all of my guests :( But I can now confidently say that I can make a much better Toblerone now :)

When making a toblerone, remember to decorate the inside of the glass with chocolate syrup before adding ice to the cocktail mixture. If the decoration is done after the shake, dilution of the cocktail will occur inside the shaker while you are decorating the glass.

It is a good idea to skip the chocolate powder part when garnishing the cocktail, as the powder can fly off everywhere when the drinker breathes out while drinking.

Type: Long drink cocktail
Method: Shake
Glass: Hurricane glass
Garnish: Chocolate syrup, chocolate powder, strawberry

Max's recipe
3.0 cl. Baileys
3.0 cl. Kahlua
3.0 cl. Frangelico
6.0 cl. Milk
Tablespoon honey

Add all ingredients into shaking glass with ice. Shake vigorously. Strain into hurricane glass filled with ice, decorated with chocolate syrup inside. Garnish with a strawberry.
